Our final Salon concert for 2014 traces the history of the guitar and lute in Italy from the Renaissance lute to the Romantic Guitar.
Illuminating the evolution of the plucked instrument as both solo and accompanying instrument, Samantha Cohen (lute, theorbo) and Geoffrey Morris (guitars) showcase the music of Milano, Piccinini, Kapsberger, Foscarini, Corelli and Giuliani through the use of period instruments including Baroque guitar, chitarra attiorbata, theorbo and chitarra romantica.
